Frequently asked questions

Accounts, cards, lending, investing, payments and security — answered.

Accounts & banking
Is Canary Financial a bank?
No. Canary is a financial-technology platform. Business checking and savings are not available yet — we do not hold customer funds and have no partner bank to name today. When the product launches we will identify the partner bank and publish the applicable disclosures. See our Banking & Treasury Disclosures.
How do I open a business account?
Business accounts are not open yet. Head to Business banking to register your interest, and we will email you as soon as applications open.
Are my deposits FDIC insured?
No. Canary is not a bank, is not FDIC insured, and does not hold customer deposits — there are no deposit accounts open today, so no FDIC or pass-through insurance applies to anything on this platform.
Cards & payments
How do debit cards work?
Card issuing is not live yet. We plan to offer virtual and physical business cards with per-card spend controls, freeze and cancel. When the program launches we will publish the card details and our issuing partner here.
Can I send money abroad?
Not yet. Cross-border payments are still in development — our Send Abroad page is a preview of what we're building, and Canary does not move money abroad today. Tell us which currency corridors you need and we'll let you know when it opens.
Lending
Does checking loan offers affect my credit?
No — Canary does not pull your credit. Our lending pages collect your details so a member of our team can follow up. Any credit check, soft or hard, would happen later and directly with a lender you choose to apply to.
What kinds of financing can I compare?
Our lending marketplace has not launched yet. The capital-solutions catalog lists the financing types we plan to support: personal loans, lines of credit and auto refinance, business term loans, SBA and revenue-based financing, and DSCR investment-property loans qualified on the property's cash flow. Every one is marked Planned today — tell us what you need and we'll follow up when it goes live.
Markets & investing
Can I trade on Canary?
No. Canary is not a broker-dealer and does not offer trading or brokerage accounts, so you cannot buy or sell securities here. In the meantime you can follow live equity market data on our market news page and read our educational guides.
Security & fees
How is my information protected?
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your data, and account credentials and sensitive fields are encrypted. Always keep your password private and notify us of any unauthorized activity. See our Privacy Policy.
What does it cost?
Reading our articles, using the calculators and submitting an enquiry form is free. The products listed on the Products page are still in development, and any pricing will be published before a product launches.
